F.A.S.T. Spelling Weekly Guidelines

Here is an overview of our two-week F.A.S.T. Spelling cycle.  Please use this guide to make sure that your work is completed correctly.

Week One (Front of Card)

  • Words written in cursive on each card
  • synonyms
  • antonyms
  • concept
  • type of syllable
  • cut out words

Week Two (Back of the Card)

  • sentence with your word used in it
  • part of speech
  • highlight the word in the sentence
  • on the front highlight the concept in the front
  • add words to the Word Wall (purple folder)
  • alphabetize
  • spelling test

Quality Check

  • All work done in cursive
  • Correct spelling
  • Correct concept
  • Correct type of speech
  • Correct syllable
  • Correct punctuation and spelling on the sentence
